You're seeing this because you're chatting with an AI assistant powered by Tealsub, embedded on a website you're visiting. Tealsub isn't the operator of that website — we provide the chatbot technology. This notice explains what data the chat widget itself stores.
The widget generates a random session ID and saves it in your browser's local storage, scoped to that website and that specific chatbot. This lets the chatbot remember your conversation if you refresh the page or come back later. It contains no personal information — just a random identifier.
Your chat messages are sent to Tealsub's servers to generate a response, using OpenAI or Anthropic (Claude) models. Messages are linked to your anonymous session ID, not to your name or account, unless you voluntarily type personal information into the chat.
When generating a response, we send your message and the domain of the website you're chatting on to OpenAI and/or Anthropic. We do not send your IP address, name, or any account information to these providers.
Conversation history is retained by the website operator's Tealsub workspace to help them review and improve their chatbot. Contact the website you were chatting on if you'd like their copy of your conversation deleted — they control that data, not Tealsub directly, though we can assist on request.
Since your session ID is stored in your browser's local storage, clearing your browser's site data for that website will start a new, unlinked session next time you chat.
The website you're chatting on has its own privacy policy governing its use of your data more broadly. This notice only covers the chatbot widget itself.
